I ventured again to Riyadh, or the outskirts to be exact, in April 2013 for the annual Janadriyah Cultural Festival which is organised by the National Festival for Heritage and Culture. From an expat perspective, the festival is an opportunity to get up close and personal with some ancient Saudi history and see cultural activities.
On arrival at the festival it became evident just how big was the festival, many people with lots of things to see. Fortunately we had a guide so we were ushered from museum, to traditional houses with bridal suites to fisherman making their nets and women selling their traditional craftwork from various materials such as pottery, leather and weaved wares.
There was time to sit down and watch a regional dance and thankfully small as I am me and my group were ushered to front row seats. It was endearing to hear the musical story of a grandfather telling his grandson of a past event. The dancers were indeed energetic and many in numbers.
A further stroll around the festival will lead you to an area where there are government organisations. Art museums proudly display paintings and craftwork.
You can have henna tattoos done, listen to folk poetry, visit the food stalls, tour castles
or just sit down and relax and soak in the atmosphere.

Movable Type has fewer themes and the customization selection is a bit rigid (The template seems to be set in stone, so less control in how the content, features and layout look. Yes. Seems to load quick in most browsers but for one blog reader Opera was having website compatibility issues.
I am not sure if this was due to the Opera version being problematic with displaying websites properly.
Opera Turbo can help with slow internet connection.
‘Not operating correctly’, do you mean it’s slow to load or are other features missing too?
What upgrade is being used? IE 7 (with tabbed browsing) or not upgraded and still using IE 6?
