WHO ARE YOU?
HOW DID YOU COME TO BE WHO YOU ARE?
ARE YOU REALLY WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
ARE YOU ALL YOU OUGHT TO BE?
Nothing was unreachable or couldn’t be done. As a child you dreamt big.
Be an astronaut, live in the biggest house, you wanted it all and ignored the adult dig.
As a teenager, peer pressure and money took a hit.
Finish studies, go to Uni or get a job and hope you like it.
20s come and you’re making a living.
Not quite the career in which you had been dreaming.
30s still hoping that you chose the right work.
But those doubts, those voices in your head lurk.
40s are here, maybe the family has you firmly committed.
Feeling overwhelmed and you’re wondering are your dreams worth it.
50s and onwards you’re everything to everyone, juggling your roles like a clown.
Every now and again you look in the mirror, sigh deeply and feel down.
What’s bothering you? What is the answer?
Aren’t you doing what you spent years running after?
Is this who you want to be? Who are you? Is this it for you?
Or is there more that you are willing to do?
If the questions are worthless carry on as you are.
But find the answers if you really want to be your own star.
