In Dhahran, I took the opportunity to join a tour group on a visit to a house which had been opened up by the owner for visitors. The host was friendly and gave an informative account of cultural traditions, house-ware, cameras, clothing, minerals, rocks, stones and gemstones.

This bowl was used for shaving. The cut-out area would be placed under the chin and the bowl would catch the shavings.

The host also provided appetizers and a feast for lunch, see the goodies below which were eaten as quickly as they were put on the table, so only a few pictures of the food!
